Background
I have been Tutoring and Mentoring students in the Eastern/Southern city areas of Manukau for ten years from 2007 to the present.
Between 2009 to 2011 I worked as a casual/fixed term contract lecturer at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Foundation Studies Department and lectured college mathematics and provided assistance in the physics course along with other duties. Foundation Studies offers bridging courses for students who have not gained or completed NZ college qualifications and may wish to further their education in tertiary institutions.
I have an Engineering Degree (Engineering Science) majoring in applied mathematics, computational techniques, operations research, finite element analysis, continuum mechanics, control theory, electronics and chemical thermal statistics. This has provided me with a very strong academic background in theoretical and applied mathematics and physics (along with the other sciences). Also I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Business (Information Systems) and certification as a PRINCE2 Project Manager.
Upon leaving university I worked for 27 years in the private sector and local government in Engineering and Business Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) roles. Companies and Organisations that I worked for include McDermott Engineering, Automation Engineering, Allen Bradley, Fisher & Paykel, NZ Defence Scientific Establishment and Auckland City Council.
